Two strain changes for 2014 flu vaccine

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has recommended two strain changes for the 2014 influenza vaccine.

The 2014 trivalent influenza vaccine for Australia is recommended to contain the following strains:

  • An A/California/7/2009 (H1N1) – like virus
  • An A/Texas/50/2012 (H3N2) – like virus
  • A B/Massachusetts/2/2012 – like virus
