Stockhoff appointed Chief Medical Officer

25 November 2013 | News

Dr Ilse-Marie Stockhoff has been appointed Chief Medical Officer at one of Australia’s leading occupational healthcare providers, Jobfit Health Group.

With more than 17 years’ medical and occupational health expertise, Dr Stockhoff will be responsible for overseeing Jobfit’s growing medical team, while driving forward the group’s occupational health services to its client base nationwide.

Currently, Jobfit delivers services to more than 5,000 clients throughout Australia each year, including pre-employment medical assessments; drug and alcohol screening; injury management and rehabilitation; onsite medical services; health surveillance; health and wellness promotion.

Graduating from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 1996, Dr Stockhoff’s career in medicine began as a medical officer at a hospital paediatric department before running her own GP practice for five years. During this time she also worked after hours at a hospital emergency department.

In 2004, Dr Stockhoff turned her focus to occupational healthcare, having returned to the University of Pretoria to complete a Diploma of Occupational Health and Medicine (Cum Laude). Her first role in the area saw her gain experience across a variety of industries while visiting onsite medical clinics.

In 2007, Dr Stockhoff relocated to Adelaide where she undertook further training. Two years later she joined Jobfit Health Group where she worked onsite at Flinders Medical Centre handling injury management cases and at General Motors Holden as the resident doctor, before relocating to Jobfit’s head office permanently.

Jobfit Health Group Managing Director, Steven Harvey, said Dr Stockhoff’s expertise in occupational healthcare has proven to be a great asset for the business, and her appointment to Chief Medical Officer was a natural progression.

“Dr Stockhoff’s high level of professionalism and drive, coupled with her vast skill set and personalised approach, made her the stand out candidate for this role,” Mr Harvey said.

“She has the full respect of the entire team and I have no doubt she’ll continue to play a very important part in our future growth plans.”

Over the next few months, Dr Stockhoff will work with the outgoing Medical Director and founder of Jobfit Health Group, Dr Chris Kelly, who will assume an advisory role within the group.
