THC (Marijuana)
Opiates
Methamphetamines
Amphetamines

Urine drug testing remains one of the most trusted and reliable methods for workplace drug screening. Our testing facilities and procedures comply with AS/NZS 4308:2008, which outlines strict requirements for specimen collection, chain-of-custody and laboratory confirmation to ensure results are accurate and defensible. Typically, screening results are available within five minutes. In cases where a not-negative result is identified, the sample is sent to a NATA accredited laboratory for confirmatory testing, ensuring full compliance with the standard and providing results that are reliable and legally defensible. For organisations or individuals who prefer a full laboratory-based approach, we also offer direct laboratory testing without initial on-site screening. While the 2008 standard can continue to be used until 2026, Jobfit has begun transitioning to the updated AS/NZS 4308:2023, the updated standard, aligning our processes with the latest requirements for accuracy and compliance.

Our testing is carried out in accordance to AS/NZS 4760:2019, which sets out the requirements for specimen collection, chain-of-custody, and laboratory confirmation to ensure results are accurate and defensible. Screening results are generally available within a few minutes. Where a not-negative result is identified, the sample is sent to a NATA accredited laboratory for confirmatory testing in line with the standard, providing reliable and legally defensible outcomes.

Alcohol breath testing is a common and effective method for detecting alcohol in the workplace. Using a handheld breathalyser, the device measures the Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC) from a simple exhaled breath and reports it as an equivalent Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC). This method is fast, non-invasive and well suited for a range of workplace programs. All testing is conducted in accordance with AS 3547:2019, which sets standards for the accuracy, reliability and performance of breath alcohol testing devices. Screening results are available instantly, and when required, a second sample can be collected to provide results that are legally defensible.
drug and alcohol testingTesting Preparation Guide
Important: A Valid photo ID is mandatory for all Drug and Alcohol testing. Testing cannot proceed without unequivocal verification of identity, in line with industry standards.

Before undergoing testing, it is important to understand how to prepare and what to expect. All tests are conducted with consent and follow strict procedures to ensure accuracy, reliability and confidentiality.

Alcohol Breath Testing: Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages or products containing alcohol (such as mouthwash or certain medications) before the test. Eating and drinking normally is fine but avoid alcohol-containing products immediately before testing. The test is quick, non-invasive, and provides instant results.

Saliva Drug Testing: Refrain from eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using oral products for at least 10–15 minutes before the test. Avoid brushing your teeth or using mouthwash immediately beforehand, as these can affect testing. Saliva tests are fast and non-invasive.

Urine Drug Testing: Stay normally hydrated, but avoid excessive fluid intake in the lead up to the test, as it may dilute the sample. If the sample is determined to be too dilute, a subsequent sample will be required. Collection is done privately, following standard procedures to ensure confidentiality is maintained.
